About buckovers

Welcome to Buckovers, Where Community, Countryside and Creativity Come Together

At Buckovers, we are more than a place to visit, we are a growing collection of independent local businesses brought together by a shared appreciation for rural life, good food, thoughtful design and time well spent. Set in the heart of South Gloucestershire, Buckovers brings together a curated garden centre, a country larder, trusted services and family-focused spaces in one welcoming setting.

Surrounded by open views across the Severn Vale and positioned just off the A38 between Thornbury and the Stroud valleys, Buckovers is easy to reach yet feels a world away from the everyday. Its location makes it a natural meeting point for visitors travelling from Bristol, Gloucester and the surrounding countryside.

Nearby Thornbury is a town rich in character, known for its independent shops, historic streets and strong sense of community. Buckovers reflects that same spirit, celebrating local producers, skilled services and the simple pleasure of spending time in a place that feels genuine and grounded.

Whether you come to browse plants, discover well-sourced food, enjoy time with family, or simply pause and take in the landscape, Buckovers invites you to slow down, feel at home and enjoy what’s growing here.

Come on in!

Hello from team Buckovers

Buckovers began with a simple idea, to create something meaningful from the land opposite Dobbies Garden Centre, purchased in 2003. What started as open ground has gradually grown into a welcoming home for independent local businesses, including a garden centre, artisan food producers and specialist services, all brought together in a setting designed to feel calm, characterful and unhurried.

As Thornbury and Falfield continue to thrive as growing communities for families and commuters alike, Buckovers is evolving into more than a place to shop, it’s somewhere to meet, pause, explore and return to. Our vision is to build thoughtfully and sustainably over time, adding the right elements in the right way, so the destination feels natural, rooted and genuinely valuable to the people who use it.

Born and raised in Gloucestershire, we care deeply about the land and the community around it. We enjoy building things properly, working creatively, getting our hands dirty when needed, and championing the very best of what the local area has to offer. From small independent producers to open green spaces, and yes, even our own beehives, Buckovers is shaped by passion, purpose and a strong sense of place. 🌿
